Jonah Brucker-Cohen

Jonah Brucker-Cohen works as a Research Fellow in the Human Connectedness Group
at Media Lab Europe in Dublin, Ireland, and is a Ph.D. candidate in the Networks
and Telecommunications Research Group (NTRG) at Trinity College Dublin. He
received a Masters from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU and
spent two years there as an Interval Research Fellow creating interactive
digital / networked projects. His work focuses on subverting existing
relationships to human / networked interfaces by building new real-world inputs
to networks, redefining how information is used and disseminated online, and
shifting virtual processes into physical forms through networked devices and
experiences. His work has been shown both in the US and internationally at
events such as DEAF, Transmediale, SIGGRAPH, ISEA, Ars Electronica and others.


Katherine Moriwaki

Katherine Moriwaki received her Masters degree from the Interactive
Telecommunications Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Her work has
appeared in IEEE Spectrum Magazine, and has been exhibited at Siggraph 2000, New
York University, Lincoln Center, the Darklight Digital Festival 2002, and the
Backup Festival of Film and New Media 2002. She has lectured internationally,
including el Universidad de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Numer.02 at
Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris France, and FAB: Filters and Blockers, Basel,
Switzerland and has worked as an Electronic Art Consultant for ABCDF, an
exhibition held in el Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City, Mexico. As a Design
Fellow at Parsons School of Design in New York, she developed and taught
Fashionable Technology, an interdisciplinary collaboration studio that explores
the interstices of wearable technology, art, and fashion. Her current work
investigates the artistic possibilities of wireless and ad-hoc networks.
Katherine is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Dublin, at Trinity College
Dublin, in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Dr.
Linda E.Doyle.


Stephen Barrass

Stephen is a researcher at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research
Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia. He has experience with virtual environments,
human computer interaction, multi-sensory
interfaces, sonification, perceptual signal processing, algorithmic music and
music visualisation. He holds a Ph.D. on Auditory Information Design from the
Australian National University and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the
University of NSW on Computer Generated Holograms.
His recent projects include the Aboriginal Welcome Dance for the Gallery of
First Australians (2001), OpShop and the joys of smashing things by singing in
public at Experimenta (2002), Haptic snuffbox - a virtual object that tells the
story of the emigrants on HMS Lady Anne at the Graphite Interactive Art show
(2003). Stephen is currently working on the Sonification Design Patterns and
ZiZi the afffectionate couch - furniture that supports the 'sitter' emotionally,
a work for experimenta in September 2003.
