Hmm, sounds a lot like Blinkenlights, except that Blinkenlights didn't have a similar looking landscape surrounding it.

Well, one probably over-simplified response to your question, Aileen, would be the content of the animations. The announcement doesn't say much about it, but I'm guessing they're a bit "artier" than they're surroundings, possibly in a manner which intentionally subverts the commercialism surrounding them. At the very least, the submitted animations probably won't appear to be commercials... then again...
